Svensk pedagogisk forskning har under ett flertal år utvecklat interkulturella perspektiv, såväl metodiskt som teoretiskt. Den har visat hur viktigt det är att skolorna i dagens mångkulturella samhälle fokuserar på att främja interkulturellt lärande. I denna antologi presenteras aktuell forskning. Bidragen visar att skillnaderna i barns och ungas uppväxtvillkor har ökat i Sverige. De visar också att diskriminering och rasism är återkommande problem och att modersmålsundervisningen är starkt marginaliserad.
