Zvejnieki is situated on Lake Burtnieki in northern Latvia. The site includes a Stone Age cemetery and two corresponding settlement sites. Excavations were directed by the archaeologist Dr. Francis Zagorskis in the 1960s and 1970s. The Zvejnieki cemetery is one of the largest in northern Europe in terms of the number of burials and the duration of its use, spaning a period of five millenia (7500-2600 BC). The cemetery still affords many opportunities for resolving various questions relating to Stone Age. The publication includes articles by seventeen specialists from seven countries, illustrating the importance of the site and the potential for archaeological and palaeoenvironmental studies. Aspects of the environment and its change during the long use of the site and the faunal remains are presented. The cemetery at Zvejnieki is excellent for both synchronic and diachronic analyses. The large number of skeletons provides an exceptional basis for studies of the characterisation of physical development, health profile changes, dental analysis, and isotope analysis and palaeodemographic statistics. The graves yield ample information about mortuary practices concerning the treatment of the body at burial and grave goods of different materials. These articles were written to honour Lars Larsson, Professor of Archaeology at Lund University, Sweden, upon the occasion of his 60th birthday.

Sweden has a long tradition in the field of historical national accounts. However, the previous series were in need of complements and revisions. In this book new, elaborated, and consistent series for the 19th and 20th centuries are presented. They are the result of comprehensive research projects carried out at the departments of economic history at Lund and Umeå universities. Series are in current as well as constant prices for the production and expenditure sides of the accounts. Accordingly, the new GDP series are given in factor and market prices. The volume series are deflated using double deflation which is new to Swedish historical national accounts.

The current development debate emphasizes national ownership of the development agenda as a precondition for sustainable development and aid effectiveness. Vietnam is often held up as a good example of strong ownership. Yet, the ownership concept is not clearly defined or understood due to a lack of empirically rooted evidence and analysis. This study examines the key elements of development ownership in Vietnam in order to define and understand the determinants and nature of strong ownership. Arguing that ownership is both time and place specific and must be defined and understood within the confines of a national political context, this study proposes an analytical framework for analyzing ownership in which the focus is shifted from a donor-driven to a recipient perspective.
