The processes of crustal evolution and orogeny have attracted the earth scientist since the beginning of the last century. Crustal evolution deals with the development of the Earth’s crust since the primeval stage of the planet’s formation. Orogeny represents the period of mountain-building, whereas the orogenesis comprises the processes controlling the development of mountain belts.
