Butterfly Wish is a story about friendship, love, loyalty and betrayal. But it is mostly about unchecked human behavior in a mecca of sex and violence. Shane Brennan and Manny Veneto are stationed in the Republic of South Korea in 1963 when suddenly they are dragged into the dark world of sin and exploitation. The two men are serving in the United States Air Force when their world surprisingly changes forever. Fifty some odd years later they decide to return to South Korea to find forgiveness and resolution to their life-long struggle with guilt. What happens to them upon their return is extraordinary. The story-line is edgy and often brutal in its details. (Adult Fiction). Contains some profanity-graphic sex and violence. Intended for readers 18 years of age and older.

Society is unchangeable. As decade after decade passes, one thing remains sadly the same, human nature. Modern inventions improve our lives, but many people''s behavior stays the same. Bullying, racism, and antisemitism remain firmly in place. This story examines those same behaviors during the decade of the 1950s. Teenagers were exposed to this daily, and each teen handled it their way. There were victims and villains: the helpless and the heroes. It is gratifying to see that philosophers' continued interest in Words and Objections has been so strong as to motivate a paperback edition. This is gratifying because it vindicates the editors' belief in the permanent im­ portance of Quine's philosophy and in the value of the papers com­ menting on it which were collected in our volume. Apart from a couple of small corrections, only one change has been made. The list of Professor Quine's writings has been brought up to date. The editors cannot claim any credit for this improvement, however. While differenees in training, method and vocabulary tend to veil the fact, philosophers and linguists are converging, it seerns, on a common set of interrelated probiems. Sinee philosophers and linguists are working on the same, or very similar, probiems, it would obviously be instructive to compare notes.
