  1. En mycket viktig bok om klimatet

    Jag lärde mig viktiga saker om jordens klimatsystem som jag inte läst någon annan stans, inklusive hur känsligt systemet är, och att det finns viss risk för att det tippar över I ett Venus-liknande klimat.
    Dock är delar av boken lite tungläst, där Hansen beskriver sin kamp mot klimatförnekande republikanska politiker i Washington för 10 år sedan (dock mycket aktuellt pga den nuvarande klimatförnekande Trump-administrationen).

    Visar på ett övertygande sätt hur koldioxidutsläppen påverkar oss lokalt och globalt. Framför allt visar J Hansen att det är förödande att stänga ner våra kärnkraftverk.

  3. Läs denna om du bara läser en klimatbok

    Bedövande kunnig författare, verksam i detta fält sedan 70-talet, förmodligen världens mest kunnige klimat/atmosfärforskare. Mycket erfarenhet av politiken bakom kulisserna (i USA men också visavi Angela Merkels och andra). Ödmjuk, återhållsam, baserar sin mycket befogade oro på en månfald mätningar, andra forskares granskade mätningar, dvs verklighet, inte på spekulativa datorsimuleringar. Hansen är mer tydlig än andra forskare, "less" på kompomissande och intetsägande utalande. Tro mig inte, läs och bilda dig en egen uppfattning.

Perhaps best known for bringing global warming to the world's attention in the 1980s when he first testified before Congress, Dr. James Hansen is considered the world's leading climatologist. The head of NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Studies, he served as Al Gore's science advisor for An Inconvenient Truth. He teaches at the Department of Earth &Environmental Sciences at Columbia University, lectures at universities and other institutions throughout the world and has been interviewed in the New York Times and other publications. This is his first book.
