Tech, Smart Cities, and Regional Development in Contemporary Russia

Bruno S. Sergi teaches on emerging markets and the political economy of Russia and China at Harvard University; he is an Associate of the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard, and he is the Series Editor of Cambridge Elements in the Economics of Emerging Markets. He is the author of Exploring the Future of Russia's Economy and Markets: Towards Sustainable Economic Development.

This book contains 11 chapters that examine aspects related to technology and economic development in contemporary Russia. Contributors working in economics and other areas mainly in Russia address socioeconomic development in Russia in the age of globalization and the context of technology; the importance of the implementation of innovative projects of technological growth through public-private partnerships; standard control of the material costs of production as a factor of the technical growth of manufacturing companies; the costs and profits of technological growth in Russia; how the role of the largest cities in Russia and the economy of the country changed during the social and economic transformations at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries; and possibilities of economic growth in Russia from the perspective of the development of organizational capability, focusing on best managerial practices of multinational companies.
