History of Hostelries in Northamptonshire

This fascinating survey of the public houses of Northamptonshire from the earliest times to the present is culled from a variety of sources and records. The book looks at hostelries past and present, (inns, alehouses, beershops) and the rich variety of their names and their meanings - some unique to the county - including those that have undergone changes over time for a number of reasons.
