    Det finns ett litet antal statsvetare/historiker som skapar verk som i sig själva får historisk betydelse, för den klarsyn och tydlighet de utstrålar, och för de ögonöppnande analogier och synteser de presenterar. Francis Fukuyama är tidigare känd (åtminstone av mig) enbart som mannen bakom tanken om att Historiens slut inträffade 1989 när Muren revs. Men Fukuyama är så oerhört mycket mer än en producent av one-liners.
