The economic elements underlying business and company law are actually common to the three legal systems and, consequently, their legal principles and rules are similar despite one jurisdiction (namely, Italy) being based on civil law and the other two on common law.
Professor Sabrina Bruno is Full Professor of Business and Company Law since 2024 and previously, since 2017, Full Professor of Private Comparative Law at University of Calabria, as well as Adjunct Professor of Law and Economics (Business and Company Law) at Luiss G. Carli, Rome since 2004. She was Associate Professor of Business and Company Law at University of Calabria (2002-2017). She obtained: a Degree of Master of Letters (M.Litt.) from University of Oxford, Linacre College, (1990-1994); a Ph.D. from University of Florence, (1992-1995); a Law Degree cum laude from Luiss G. Carli, Rome (1983-1987). She was: Visiting Scholar at Stanford Law School (CA, USA) in 2019; Fulbright Visiting Scholar at Harvard Law School (MA, U.S.A.) in 2010; Visiting Scholar at University of Oxford in 2004, 2002, 1999, 1996; Visiting Scholar at Southern Methodist University of Dallas (TX, USA) in 1998; Visiting Scholar at University of California, Davis (CA, USA) in 1995. She is the author of other two monographs (on Role of general meeting of shareholders in corporate governance, CEDAM, 2012 and Liability for damages for misleading information in financial markets, ESI, 2000) and of several articles and chapters published on Italian or international editions in particular on directors’ duties and liabilities, sustainability and climate change covering European, Italian, UK and US jurisdictions.
