Wearable Biosensors for Healthcare

Dr. Vigneswaran Narayanamurthy is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai, with over 13 years of experience in research, teaching, and consultancy in Electronics and Biomedical Engineering. He holds a Bachelor’s in Electronics and Communication Engineering and a Master’s in Medical Electronics, both with gold medals. He completed his PhD and Post-Doctoral Research in Biomedical Engineering at Universiti Malaysia Pahang. Dr. Narayanamurthy has published 40 indexed international journal articles, holds two patents, and supervises multiple research students. He is a Life Member of several technical societies and has successfully completed over 10 sponsored projects, securing funding of half a million RM. His research interests encompass MEMS/NEMS, biosensors, medical devices, and precision farming, among others. Dr. L. Sujatha is a Professor and Head of the Centre of Excellence in MEMS & Microfluidics at Rajalakshmi Engineering College, Chennai, with 30 years of experience in teaching and research. She earned her PhD and Post-Doctoral Research in Micro Electro Mechanical Systems (MEMS) from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. A recognized supervisor under Anna University, she has guided three PhD scholars and published three book chapters, 40 journal papers, and over 60 conference papers. Dr. Sujatha has received several accolades, including the “Best Woman Engineer” award in 2007 and the “Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Award for Innovative Research” in 2017. She established a state-of-the-art MEMS facility at REC and has completed 15 sponsored projects, securing Rs 7.5 Crores in funding. Her research focuses on microfabrication technologies and the development of chemical and biosensors. Dr. Fahmi Samsuri is a Associate Professor at Universiti Malaysia Pahang, specializing in Electrical & Electronics Engineering Technology. He earned his B.Eng in Electrical, Electronics & System Engineering in 1999 and an M.Sc from UKM in 2002, followed by a PhD in Electrical & Computer Engineering from Canterbury University in 2011. Since joining UMP in 2005, he has directed the Industry-Centre of Excellence (I-CoE) Cluster and has been an Adjunct Research Advisor for the Nan Yang Academy of Sciences since 2018. Dr. Samsuri has led 20 research grants totaling US$ 1.2M, supervised 11 graduate students, and holds two patents. He has published over 70 articles and received numerous awards, maintaining strong industry collaborations with companies like Keysight and Samsung. He also serves as a panel examiner and consultant for various educational and technical initiatives.
