Praxis of Social Transformation

In this book, Steve Newcom confirms that many faith leaders and institutions are unprepared to bring about meaningful social transformation through sustained public action. Across thirteen chapters, Newcom offers a set of strategies for beginning and maintaining learnable forms of public practice, each with identifiable attributes and competencies. Through a seven-fold process, the chapters herein chart a course for meaningful, social transformation grounded in achievable and intersectional forms of action. Such strategies seriously consider the demands of public life, where socio-political actions are not measured by intention, but by impact. While this does not minimize the realities of injustice, Newcom contends that this seven-fold strategy for social transformation makes justice more formable for leaders and communities of faith.
