Jessalyn L. Bird, D.Phil. (Oxford), is associate professor of Humanistic Studies at Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, IN. She has published widely on the crusades, Paris masters, social and legal reforms, and heresy. Her latest book is a co-edited volume, Crusades and Nature: Natural and Supernatural Environments in the Middle Ages (Palgrave Macmillan, 2024).Rita George-Tvrtković, PhD (Notre Dame), is professor of theology at the University of St. Mary of the Lake in Illinois, where she studies medieval Christian-Muslim relations and modern interreligious dialogue. She is author of A Christian Pilgrim in Medieval Iraq: Riccoldo da Montecroce’s Encounter with Islam (Brepols, 2013).
