C. A. BYFORD is one of those people who your parents warned you about, but you didn't listen. You insisted on doing your 'own thing'. An unashamed 80s tearaway, he worked many IT roles when growing up, from service desk, IT manager, all the way to assisting huge multinationals and governments with cloud-based email and security services. After being diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in the mid-2000s, he underwent surgery, giving him the kick he needed to pursue writing full-time. When not writing, he can normally be found somewhere dark indulging in astrophotography, or wandering local woodland, camera in hand. On the side, he runs Unusual Type, an imprint for titles that seem a little too fringe for traditional publishing. He lives with his wife and son in Gloucester, where it rains constantly, and people tumble down hills trying to chase wheels of cheese.
