'Marit [Tornqvist]'s pictures of Stockholm by twilight are dreamlike, and very attractive.' -- Bookwitch 'In the Land of Twilight tells of Goran, who has a bad leg and is bored spending so much time in bed. But when darkness falls Mr. Lilyvale takes him to the Land of Twilight, where Goran drives a bus, eats candy from trees, and even visits royalty. Good reading skills from grades 2-3 will lend to an appreciation of this imaginative survey of a magical land of imagination where illness and disability are changed to wonder and amazement.' --Midwest Book Review 'In the Land of Twilight ... is a beautiful tale of escapism and the potential power of your imagination.' -- Early Years Educator "Tornqvist's atmospheric illustrations, the difference of the Swedish setting and the sense of wonder Lindgren evokes will, when the book is read aloud and revisited many times, speak powerfully to the concerns of young readers of 4 to 8." --Gillian Lathey, School Librarian 'A magical spiritual book.' --Juno
