A pretty grand one!

A classical country house murder mystery, though the size of the place is unusually colossal of course. A whodunnit where you first have to establish what's been done at all. The corpse doesn't surface until very late in the day. Literally. And in more ways than one.
We meet the filthy rich AND the staff downstairs, learning quite a bit about their often unhealthy symbiosis (both classes know how to be miserable, but in different fashions of course), and there's real historical people galore - the most likable being T.E. Lawrence (not yet of Arabia). He's a perky little fellow. It's not hard to see him blowing up trains in the desert. Well.. With a few more years under tha belt that is.
Highly recommended, if you like the genre, and chock full of historical detail.
