Janette Turner Hospital was born in Australia and grew up in Queensland. She currently lives in the USA where she holds the position of Distinguished Carolina Professor of English at the University of South Carolina. She is the author of seven previous novels, including OYSTER and DUE PREPARATIONS FOR THE PLAGUE.
