    Beskrivning

"Married? But you've only known him a year!""Trevor says that if we get married before he goes for his National Service, then he'll get the Marriage Allowance.""But…!" Married life isn’t what they promised it would be… Romantic young Maureen Matthews has always dreamt of a life beyond working in the Potteries factory. Then, just like a scene from one of her beloved films, she meets handsome, charming Trevor Mountford. He seems to be everything Maureen ever fantasised about and so when he proposes to her, it seems all her wishes are coming true. But the reality of married life isn't what Maureen thought it would be. Struggling with Trevor’s surprising behaviour, Maureen starts to question everything, from the wisdom of her own feelings to what she deserves from a relationship. When Maureen meets the protective and kind Greg Barlow, he's completely different from everything she thought she wanted – but she starts to think he's all she ever needed. Will Maureen’s mistake in her marriage haunt her forever, or is there any hope for her to find the love she longs for? This heart-wrenching historical fiction novel is perfect for fans of Kitty Neale, Dilly Court, and Glenda Young. This story was previously published under the title A Girl of Her Time. ***** Readers love Margaret Kaine! ***** “I come eagerly to any book by Margaret Kaine”“The latest novel by Margaret Kaine certainly ticks all the boxes”“A superb writer whose elegant prose never fails to take the reader right to the heart of a tale”“An amazing journey of many twists and turns that you certainly don't see coming”“Absolutely brilliant and can highly recommend"
