Algorithmic Approaches for the Diagnosis of Common Neurological Emergencies

Dr. Shrestha is an associate professor at Department of Critical Care Medicine at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Nepal. He is currently enrolled as a PhD student at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia. He has strong academic and research interest in the field of neurocritical care. He has conducted numerous workshops and training programs related to neurocritical care and point-of-care ultrasound. He has published over 200 peer reviewed articles and has edited one book. He has contributed over a dozen of book chapters. He has attended numerous national and international conferences as invited speaker. He is the immediate past chair of the Asia-Oceania chapter of Neurocritical Care Society (NCS)Dr. Hemanshu Prabhakar is a Professor at the Department of Neuroanaesthesiology and Critical Care at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, India. He is a recipient of the AIIMS Excellence Award 2012 for his notable contribution to academia. He has a special interest in the evidence-based practice of neuroanesthesia and ERAS. Dr. Prabhakar is a Member of various national and international neuroanesthesia societies and is the Past Secretary of the Indian Society of Neuroanesthesia and Critical Care (ISNACC) and the Society of Neurocritical Care (SNCC). He is also the Immediate Past President of the SNCC. To date, he has published more than 25 books on neuroanesthesia and neurocritical care. He is featured in the Limca Book of Records as a prolific Writer in the field of neuroanesthesiology. He actively collaborates on research activities among the low-income and middle-income countries.Gisele holds a degree in Medicine from the Federal University of Ceará (1999), a residency in Neurology from the Federal University of São Paulo (2003), a doctorate in Neurology from the Federal University of São Paulo (2005), a specialization (fellowship) in Cerebrovascular Diseases and Neurointensive Care at Harvard University/Massachusetts General Hospital (2009) and a master's degree in public health from Harvard School of Public Health (2014). She is currently a professor of Neurology at the Federal University of São Paulo and Head of Neurology Clinical Research at the Albert Einstein Hospital, São Paulo, Brazil. Gisele has been the principal investigator of numerous clinical trials in Brazil, including the RESILIENT trial, which led to the approval of mechanical thrombectomy in the Public Health System in the country. She has also held important positions in several national and international societies, such as the President of the Brazilian Stroke Society, a member of the Board of Directors for the Neurocritical Care Society, and past Secretary of the Brazilian Academy of Neurology. She is actively involved with the WSO/SIECV Certification of Stroke Centers in Latin American and Caribbean countries. She is one of the leaders of the Optimal Stroke trial, evaluating ideal blood pressure levels following ischemic stroke, which finalized the recruitment of more than 4000 patients in Brazil. Prof Andrew Udy is Head of Research at The Alfred ICU, and Deputy Director, Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Research Centre - Monash University. His research interests include traumatic brain injury, sepsis, and ECMO. Andrew is passionate about supporting trainees/early-career clinician-scientists, and increasing diversity in clinical research. He is a proud product of Aotearoa New Zealand.
