SHADOWS OF THE BLUEGRASS VOLUME II THE COST OF WITNESS

SHADOWS OF THE BLUEGRASS - VOLUME IITHE COST OF WITNESSby Christopher HigniteWhat happens when you don t just pass through haunted places but return to them?In The Cost of Witness, the second volume of the Shadows of the Bluegrass trilogy, the distance between observer and land begins to collapse. What started as isolated encounters in Volume I escalates into sustained attention, repetition, and consequence. These are not campfire legends or secondhand folklore. They are firsthand accounts rooted in real roads, neighborhoods, and backcountry across Central Kentucky where curiosity turns costly and knowing when to leave becomes the most important lesson of all. As encounters intensify, patterns begin to form but they remain incomplete. Voices linger too long. Watchers appear without explanation. Some places respond differently after repeated visits. This volume documents that unstable middle ground, where understanding has not yet arrived and restraint is still being learned. ? This book is not a ghost-hunting guide? It is not folklore or urban legend? It is not an invitation to investigateInstead, The Cost of Witness is a record of proximity of what happens when attention is sustained, boundaries blur, and silence has not yet returned. This volume ends without resolution. That comes later. Perfect for readers of: True paranormal memoir Place-based horror and regional haunting Readers who prefer restraint over spectacle Volume II prepares the ground for Volume III: The Pattern Revealed
