Guide to Establishing Pacifist-Anarchist-Socialist Fellowships Within Unitarian Universalism

The seeds of this book were sown in the fertile ground of a growing unease with the state of the world. As a progressive theologian and social activist, I found myself increasingly troubled by the pervasive injustices and suffering that plague our societies. It was in the halls of the Unitarian Universalist (UU) church that I began to grapple with this existential crisis, seeking answers within the rich tapestry of faith and action that define this vibrant community. The UU church has long been a haven for those seeking a more just and compassionate world, embracing a commitment to social justice, environmental stewardship, and the interconnectedness of all beings. Yet, I felt a yearning for something more, a deeper commitment to the radical ideals of nonviolence, anarchism, and socialism. This book is a testament to that yearning, a call for a reimagining of faith and action within the UU church. It explores the potential for establishing Pacifist-Anarchist-Socialist (PAS) aligned fellowships within the UU community, offering a framework for reinterpreting religious traditions through a PAS lens, examining core beliefs and practices.
