He was there through the worst of it ,,, and still manages to capture in awesome detail the gallows humor, rage and savagery of a jungle war we Americans try in vain to forget ... My kids got their hands on this book before I could stop them ... They each gave me a big hug after the reading... The language and descriptions are too "salty" for normal Swedish minds ... But now they know what their Dad went through ... and understand why he is obsessed with looking for the lost Laporte, and is still watching for ambushes and can dive for cover at loud noises ... and why he is so grateful for forgiveness ...Thank you Jesus! ... Bless ya, Doc, for being there and having the guts to write it.
