Kids On Earth A Children's Documentary Series Exploring Global Culture & The Natural World - Guatemala

Welcome to Guatemala!

My name is Bastian, and this is my sister Jacinta. Let us take you on a trip through our beautiful country. It''s a very special place in the world and there is so much to share with you.

The name Guatemala has Indian origins, but over time the meaning of the name has long been lost.

Some people believe that the name was originally from the Aztecs and not the Mayans that once lived in what is now called Guatemala. A few ideas behind the name Guatemala could mean Land of Trees but could also mean Mountain of Vomiting Water!
