Dumpy Princess

Princess Victoria lives in a world of dolls, pets and palaces. But with four bad uncles, a penniless widowed mother and wicked Sir John Conroy for company, life isn’t easy. It takes Victoria’s down-to-earth governess Lehzen, a nice German cousin called Albert and her beloved spaniel Dash to convince the plain little girl with no chin that one day she could become Queen of England. Wittily penned and delightfully illustrated, The Dumpy Princess offers a lighthearted glimpse into a royal childhood. The book lists the Kings and Queens of England since 1066.Important dates in H>R>H> Princess Victoria's early life:1819Princess Victoria is born to Edward Duke of Kent and his German wife Victoire.1820Victoria's father dies.1828Feodora, daughter of Victoire, Princess of Leiningen (later Duchess of Kent) and Prince Charles of Leiningen marries Prince Ernest of Hohenlohe Langenburg and goes to live in Germany,1830King George the Fourth dies and Victoria's Uncle William becomes King William III.1832Victoria visits the Midlands.1835Victoria is extremely ill.1836Victoria's German cousins Prince Ernest the Elder and Prince Albert come to stay.
