I cant say exactly what it was that I expected, but it wasnt dropping the book twice before finally finnishing it. Aroura and Alyce were cute together, but Alyce's constant mention of what she think is wrong with her world read more as "Im not like other girlsss! I dont like dressesss and pretty jewelsss!" Than it being actual problems in deep need of change. Then I also felt like it over looked some somewhat problematic things, brought them up once, didnt give an opinion on it and never brought it up again. Not a book i would ever re-read or recomend. But to be fair, I did enjoy the world building.
