FOREIGN WARRIOR is a cultural story shaped by Jamaican heritage, London council estates and the struggle to belong in Britain. From early memories of my grandmother’s Seventhday Adventist household, the harshness of the South Circular streets, the adventure playgrounds around the Aylesbury Estate, the generosity of a Dutch host family and the intense world of nonleague football. Through these experiences, the memoir explores themes of abandonment, identity loss, resilience and the discovery of selfworth. This is more than a football memoir.
