In the Service of Truth

What happens when one voice refuses to stay silent? In 1995, Eva Kallai, a newly graduated police officer, saw a colleague violently assault a defenseless man in a Stockholm elevator. Instead of looking away, she chose justice over loyalty—reporting the incident and sparking a landmark trial. The backlash was fierce: isolation, threats, and a career shattered by the code of silence. Yet through pain came strength. In In the Service of Truth, Eva shares her journey from guilt and fear to healing and empowerment. A gripping memoir about civil courage, institutional betrayal, and the quiet power of living authentically—no matter the cost.
