The 2018 edition of this yearbook is divided into nine sections: cardiology; chest and critical care; diabetes and metabolic disorders; gastroenterology/hepatology; infectious diseases, HIV and TB; miscellaneous (geriatrics, genetics, and pregnancy related); nephrology and hypertension; neurology; and rheumatology and immunology.Each section contains 20 selected journal articles that provide updates on new developments and the direction in which different subspecialties are moving to improve patient care.Simplified commentary on the articles has been included for the benefit of postgraduate students and practicing physicians.Each article concludes with a key message.A list of references for further reading has been provided at the end of some of the sections.
