Theories of Chemical Reactions Rates

This volume contains selected papers by Nobel Prizewinner (Chemistry 1992) Dr Rudolph A. Marcus, with introductory notes on each section. Dr Marcus' mathematical analysis of how the overall energy in a system of interacting molecules changes and induces an electron to jump from one molecule to another has provided an explanation for some puzzling chemical reactions involving the transfer of electrons between molecules. His theories shed light on the simple chemical process that underlies many important phenomena such as photosynthesis, electrically conducting polymers and corrosion.
