Beskrivning

This book focuses on advances in psychology. Chapter 1 analyzes the configuration of social control in Catholic thought between the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries. Chapter 2 explores the role of emotional intelligence in therapeutic settings, examining how the ability to perceive, understand, and regulate emotions contributes to psychological well-being and therapeutic success. Chapter 3’s objective is a critical investigation of Freudian psychoanalytic symptoms. The overall objective of Chapter 4 is to examine critically the so-called “oceanic feeling.” Chapter 5 addresses a model based on self-compassion and psychological flexibility in the context of sports, the COMPACT model for athletes and coaches. The goal of Chapter 6 is to review some of the major theories in which social alienation may play a vital role, some of the major implications of the effects of social alienation, and some of the behavioral outcomes of social alienation pertaining to major psychological theories of behavior. Chapter 7 explores the bidirectional relations between adolescent adjustment and triangulation into interparental conflict, focusing on how adolescent adjustment can influence triangulation and, conversely, how such triangulation can impact adolescent adjustment.
