Wild Ruins

Some ruins hide more than just history… A generation of lost children… In Victorian England, unwanted babies were a problem to be solved. In a lonely part of the countryside, The Wainwright School was lauded as a sanctuary. But the children who passed through its doors were never seen again. A detective who can't leave the past alone… Jake Jackson's wife is dangerously ill, and a rogue cop from his past has returned. He has troubles enough. But when a Victorian diary reveals the story of Mabel, a woman whose child vanished without a trace, Jake cannot leave her to history. Some crimes take a century to solve… The truth about Mabel's fate is far darker than Jake imagined. And as his own family's future hangs in the balance, he realises that some secrets are meant to stay hidden, whatever the cost.
