The Corrections, published in 2001, and recently cited by the New York Times as the one of the top five books of the 21st century was succeeded by the novels Freedom, Purity and Crossroads, all published by Fourth Estate.

‘The most important thing that happened to me on September 1, 2001 is the publication of The Corrections, and the second is my 18th birthday. Without this book I don't think I'd have ever learned what books are really for. Gluttonously fun, plotted like a museum heist, grand, daring, worldly. Characters so three-dimensional you can barely get it shut.
