My Little Sister and Me

Maple Lam is a little sister, claims to be number one, and causes no trouble at all-just like the little sister in this book. She loved drawing pictures and writing stories when she was young, and she loves it even more today. Maple lives in Southern California with her family. This is the first book she has written and illustrated.

"The illustrations, expressive pencil drawings with watercolor washes, are accessible and appealing. A nice addition to the picture-book shelves, this story highlights the positive side as well as the challenges of dealing with younger siblings." -- Booklist "Lam captures the earnest relationship between young siblings. Her soft-colored pencil-and-watercolor illustrations flow with little sister's energy. Young readers will relate to the siblings' animated reactions to each part of their walk...Lam's words and drawings offer tangible evidence to the intangible love between siblings." -- Kirkus Reviews "Caregivers and children alike will enjoy this book as a way to introduce an important milestone." -- School Library Journal "This is gently told yet sharply focused...the details and the dialogue will ring true to any older sib who's tried to travel with a younger one. Colored pencil and watercolor illustrations are clean and uncluttered yet cozy." -- Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books
