In 1978, Haruki Murakami was twenty-nine and running a jazz bar in downtown Tokyo. One April day, the impulse to write a novel came to him suddenly while watching a baseball game.     Jag kan bara förstöra boken genom att berätta mer. Den är helt enkelt bara så fantastiskt fint skriven från början till slut, Köp köp köp!

    Detta var min första bok av Murakami men inte den sista. En av mina allra bästa läsupplevelser. Inledningen av boken kanske kan avskräcke vissa personer som vill förstå allt på en gång. Häng i är mitt råd. Ett fantastisk värld som känns som vår egen men ändå inte alls. Denna dualitet genomsyrar hela boken både direkt och indirekt. Fantasin, språket och tempot, allt bidrar till att göra en bok som jag trodde skulle bli tungrodd att vara en riktigt delikat mumsbit.
