Education of Sociologists in the United States

A critique of graduate education in sociology and an evaluation of its shortcomings. Mr. Sibley acknowledges the main and often opposing trends in the field, and calls for mutual recognition and understanding. He also remarks that the study of sociology needs to have a clearer aim than it does at present. He claims that a science without theory is only a method, and then outlines the training necessary for so great a change in outlook.
