Separate chapters examine relations with the USA, Japan, the EFTA countries (Austria, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland and Liechtenstein), Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union, the Mediterranean countries, the Third World (through the Rome Convention), ASEAN (Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand) and Australia and New Zealand.
