WILLIAM HUGHES is author of many articles on the fiction of Bram Stoker and is the editor of a critical edition of Stoker's 1909 novel, The Lady of the Shroud. His current research focuses on the contrasting medical backgrounds of late-Victorian and late-twentieth-century vampire fiction.
