HARRY BLOCH is Professor of Economics at Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Australia. His research interest is in industrial economics, with particular emphasis on pricing, the dynamics of competition and the role of international trade. He has published widely in leading economic journals. - PETER KENYON is Professor of Economics and Director, Institute for Research into International Competitiveness at Curtin University of Technology, Perth. He is also currently Survey Editor of the Economic Record, the Melbourne Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research at the University of Melbourne and the Centre for Labour Market Research.
