Wills, Trusts, and Estate Administration

Janis Walter, professor emeritus, teaches part-time at the University of Cincinnati’s ABA-approved paralegal program. She has served as chair of the ABA’s Approval Commission on Paralegals and was a member of the Standing Committee. She participates as a Specially Designated Commissioner for the ABA on site visits across the U.S. Professor Walter was also an active member of the American Association for Paralegal Education, where she served as editor of the Paralegal Educator. She has presented at many different forums on topics ranging from teaching effectiveness to handling adoptions. Professor Walter authored The Ohio Courts, a series of widely popular case studies covering civil litigation, criminal law and family law, and she developed three learning labs for a virtual law office. Professor Walter holds a bachelor's degree in political science and a law degree from Salmon P. Chase College of Law. She is licensed to practice law in Kentucky and Ohio and before the United States Supreme Court. She practiced in the areas of estate law, family law, bankruptcy and personal injury. Emma Wright Fletcher is an associate professor and program coordinator in the Law and Paralegal Studies Program at the University of Cincinnati. She has served on the ABA’s Approval Commission on Paralegals, participating in numerous site visits on their behalf. She is also a member of the American Association for Paralegal Education. She was a partner in the Wright Law Group, where she focused her practice on estate administration, family law and criminal law. Professor Fletcher holds a bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Cincinnati and a law degree from the University of Kentucky College of Law. She is licensed to practice law in Ohio.
