Richard P. Feynman (1918–1988) was a professor at Cornell University and CalTech and received the Nobel Prize for physics in 1965. In 1986 he served with distinction on the Rogers Commission investigating the space shuttle Challenger disaster. Ralph Leighton lives in northern California.

    Det är mycket möjligt att Feynman är en av världens främsta lärare, speciellt inom fysik, matematik och därtill hörande områden. Dessutom har han humor.

    Richard P Feynman är lättläst. En levande inblick i hans liv. Ta till exempel ett seminarium på Princeton då en ung Feynman skulle presentera sina findings inom elektrodynamiken. Hans mentor professor Wheeler tyckte att det här måste professor Einstein komma och lyssna på."Han går inte så ofta på föredrag." Einstein.infann sig, itet försenad. I salen fanns redan matematkern John von Neumann och Wolfgang Pauli på besök från Schweiz. Vem blir inte star struck? Inte Feyman (f-n tro't). Eller ta hans citerade dialoger med Oppenheimer i Los Alamos. Det bästa är nog hans fascinerande vardagsliv, med små knep och ibland tur som gör honom så beundrad av sin samtid. Ett roande kapitel handlar om hans besök i Stockholm för att ta emot Nobelpriset.
