    Beskrivning

**Selected for 2026 Doody's Core Titles as an Essential Purchase in Clinical Genetics**

The only reference devoted to the diagnoses and management of birth defects resulting from mechanical forces, Smith's Recognizable Patterns of Human Deformation, 5th Edition, provides evidence-based management for a range of common pediatric problems affecting the limbs and craniofacial region. Continuing the tradition of excellence established by Dr. Smith’s research and teaching, this title supplies highly readable, well-illustrated guidance needed for timely intervention and effective treatment in order to avoid long-term adverse secondary consequences. It’s an ideal resource offering comprehensive, systematic coverage for residents, pediatricians, practitioners, or parents seeking further information in this complex area.

    Recensioner i media

"…highly readable and well-illustrated, making it valuable to all levels of providers and students alike. The book targets specialties associated with newborn care, such as obstetrics, pediatrics, and neonatology… [It] more than meets the needs of the audience with highly understandable text and illustrations… This is a high-quality book. The chapters are easy to read and understand. They are complete in discussing the diagnosis and management of the conditions, and the illustrations and photos add to the understanding of the defects. With new evidence developing as well as new treatment modalities coming out, this book is a needed update. Readers should be aware of and not confuse this book with the similarly titled Smith's Recognizable Patterns of Human Malformation, 8th Edition, Jones et al. (Elsevier, 2021)."Review by Pamela Harris-Haman, DNP, APRN, NNP-BC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center), ©Doody's Review Service, 2026. Doody's Score: 100, 5 Stars!
