    Geomorphometry: Concepts, Software, Applications, Second Edition aims to inform, educate, and assist users in the field by expanding the reach of the Geomorphometry community's knowledge. Geomorphometry, the science of quantitative land-surface analysis, evolved from geomorphology and quantitative terrain analysis, rooted in 19th-century geometry and physical geography.     Since the book's first edition in 2009, there have been significant advancements in data production methods, the data itself, and software applications. The editors have proposed a second edition, maintaining the original structure while incorporating these improvements. The book also covers the refinement and analysis of digital elevation models (DEMs), the use of GIS tools, and the application of geomorphometric techniques in various fields such as hydrology, ecology, and urban planning.

    Hannes I. Reuter is a geoecologist from the University of Potsdam (Germany, 1999) with a PhD in soil science from the University of Hannover (Germany, 2004). He is specialized inspatial research projects from global and continental to local scales and has worked in multidisciplinary research institutes. With Tom he was one of the editors of the first edition andserved as president (2021--2025) of the International Society for Geomorphometry. Currently he works as a statistical officer inthe European Commission. Carlos H. Grohmann is aP full professor at the Universidade de São Paulo, Brazil (USP), where he coordinates the Spatial Analysis and Modelling Lab (SPAMLab). He holds a BSc in Geology(2001), MSc (2004), and PhD (2008) in geotectonics from USP. His research focuses on the use of digital elevation models, open-source geospatial tools, and quantitative analysis of landforms. He has served as vice-president (2015--2021, 2025--2027) and board member (2021--2025) of the International Society forGeomorphometry. Vincent Lecours is a full professor at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi. He holds a BSc degree in applied geomatics fromthe Université de Sherbrooke (2011) and a PhD in geography from Memorial University of Newfoundland (2016). He conducts cross-disciplinary environmental research using geospatial technologies and spatial sciences, with a particular focus on bridging geomatics and ecology. His primary fields of application are marine and coastal habitat mapping and marine geomorphometry. Lecours has served as vice-president (2021--2023) and president(2025--2027) of the International Society for Geomorphometry.
