Dr. Abdollah Malekjafarian is currently an Assistant Professor and leader of the “Structural Dynamics and Assessment Laboratory (SDA-Lab), in the School of Civil Engineering at University College Dublin (UCD), in Ireland. He received his PhD in Civil Engineering from UCD in 2016. His main areas of research interest are structural dynamics and random vibrations for civil infrastructure including wind turbines and transport Infrastructure. Dr. Malekjafarian is also the Coordinator of the WindLEDeRR project (Lifetime Extension Decommissioning Repowering Repurposing), a comprehensive decision support tool for end-of-life wind turbines in Ireland.Dr. Filipe Magalhães is an Associate Professor with Habilitation and Director of the Structural Testing Laboratory of the Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, at the University of Porto (FEUP), in Portugal. He has published 4 book chapters, 67 international journal papers, and more than 100 international conference papers, and has received over 4,000 citations (Scopus). He is the representative of the University of Porto at the EAWE - European Academy of Wind Energy, and Chair of a Task Group at IABSE (TG4.5 Monitoring in Construction). Dr. Magalhães has (co-)supervised 3 ongoing PhDs and 8 concluded PhDs, as well as over 20 master theses, has been a member of the organizing committee of 8 international conferences, and is coordinator of 2 courses on Numerical Modelling of Wind Turbines. He has also been involved in a range of consultancy projects related to wind turbines or dynamic testing of infrastructure in Europe and the US.Dr. Francisco Carvalho Neto de Queirós Pimenta is an Invited Assistant Professor and Postdoc Researcher in the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Porto, in Portugal. He completed his PhD in Civil Engineering at the University of Porto in 2023. He has published 12 articles in international journals, has supervised 1 MSc dissertation and co-supervised 4, and has participated as a PhD Student Fellow in 1 project and as a Researcher in 5 projects. Dr. Pimenta works in the areas of Engineering and Technology, with emphasis on Civil Engineering and Physical Sciences.Dr. Vikram Pakrashi (PhD, FIEI, MASCE) is the Director of University College Dublin’s Centre for Mechanics, as well as Associate Professor in the School of Mechanical and Materials Engineering at UCD, in Ireland. He is also a Fellow with Chartered Engineers Ireland. Dr. Pakrashi’s research integrates sensors, analytics and fundamental physics to deliver solutions for monitoring and assessing built infrastructure systems. He has led and been active in a wide range of research in this regard, with a strong current focus on renewable energy. He is the current President of the European association on quality control of bridges and structures.Dr. Babak Moaveni is currently Professor and Associate Chair of Civil and Environmental Engineering, with a secondary appointment in Electrical and Computer Engineering, at Tufts University in the United States. He obtained his Ph.D. in structural engineering at University of California, San Diego, in 2007. His research interests include probabilistic system identification of dynamic systems, Bayesian inference, uncertainty quantification, and verification and validation of computational models with applications to offshore wind turbines. Prof. Moaveni is an ASCE EMI Fellow and previously served as chair of the ASCE EMI Structural Health Monitoring and Control and ASCE SEI Methods of Monitoring Structural Performance committees. He was selected as the 2023 SHM person of the year by the Journal of Structural Health Monitoring. He is currently serving as associate editor for journals of Structural Health Monitoring, ASCE Structural Engineering, and Frontiers in Built Environment – Sensing.
