Kazuo Ishiguro was born in Nagasaki, Japan, in 1954 and moved to Britain at the age of five. His nine works of fiction have earned him many honours around the world, including the Nobel Prize in Literature and the Booker Prize. His work has been translated into over fifty languages and The Remains of the Day and Never Let Me Go, both made into acclaimed films, have each sold over a million copies in Faber editions. He received a knighthood in 2018 for Services to Literature.

    Själva hjärtat i berättelsen är hyfsat bra men den är ganska förutsägbar och tyvärr förstörs den av ett alldeles för långsamt tempo. Det är en massa repetitioner hela tiden och det tar evigheter innan nånting händer, så när det väl händer nått så bryr man sig inte så mycket längre. Tyvärr blev jag mycket besviken.

    England efter kung Arthurs illdåd. Mycken vidskeplighet och svårt lidande. Bristen på minnen bidrar till lidandet, men fungerar kanske som ett skydd mot oönskade förändringar. Tankeväckande och underhållande på samma sätt som Ichiguros tidigare verk, men inte på samma nivå.
