Fall-Girl (Faber Editions)

INTRODUCED BY NAOISE DOLANYes, she had to escape suburban Australia: but bohemian London isn't what she'd dreamed of either. She's had enough of practicing her seductive Virgin Goddess expression. And falling for the mating-calls of Great Men while drunk and Gothic at parties. Or failing at rites (or wrongs) of passage. But when she does marry and becomes pregnant, it's far from a happy ending. Abandoned as a single mother, being run over by the lawnmower becomes supremely tempting. But eventually, she stops thinking about revenge. She will not fall.Welcome to Jill Neville's wildly tragicomic chronicle of an un-heroine-like life of doomed jubilation.
