Statue licking and other stories

A wannabe superhero gets another shot at redemption. An Aussie Rules supporter travels back in time to watch his favourite team play, but only to matches they lose. A new drug is let loose on a small town, with macabre results. A bodyguard falls in love with the alien he's protecting. These are just some of the short stories in Paul Harman's latest collection. Harman deftly combines the supernatural with the mundane, the sentimental with the darkly humorous and gruesome – sometimes in the same story.
