They can’t wait to introduce him to the family, but Speedy has other plans. He escapes! Can you help find him? Their extended family and friends certainly try to help. But is George and Lotta’s jar really the best place for Speedy, or does he belong outside with his fellow slugs? This story taps into the desire kids have to capture and keep the things they find in nature. But Speedy's adventure just may make them think twice about removing their next discovery from its true home.

Mer om författaren

Nici Gregory started illustrating while she was still in primary school, drawing in the margins of her exercise books. After studying graphic design, she went on to work as an in-house illustrator for a marketing firm. When she realised her work in the margins (mostly animals in fancy clothes) continued to be her best work, she decided to leave the world of marketing for a career in creating animal characters for children. She has never looked back. Where’s Speedy? is her debut picture book.

Recensioner i media

"Gregory’s simple tale of a lost short-term yard pet is a fun game of spot the gastropod. Once kids realize Speedy is on every page, they will demand to read it again to find the miniscule mollusk. Cartoon illustrations with scribbly lines are a good match for the text. (This book was reviewed digitally.)Animal lovers will have a field day with this fun story that also offers a seek-and-find element."Kirkus reviews
