United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child in Wales

Jane Williams is Senior Lecturer in the School of Law at Swansea University. She is also co-director of Wales Observatory on Human Rights of Children and Young People and a member of Wales UNCRC Monitoring Group.

This volume makes a distinct contribution to children's rights scholarship in three ways. It provides a unique case study of the way in which children's rights in Wales made their way from political commitment to legislative enactment; it sheds light on the opportunities and challenges for children's rights realisation in a context of multi-level governance; and it offers a comprehensive picture of the state of children's rights in Wales, and of future prospects under the recently adopted children's rights Measure.
