Jeannie Wakefield needs help. Her family is being held by the US authorities. M is a journalist and at Jeannie's request she returns to Istanbul to investigate. She tries to be objective, but Jeannie's husband is also M's first love. M's search for the truth leads her into a tangled web involving a retired intelligence operative, a mysterious 'trunk' murder, and a group of young people involved in subterfuge, now facing a real crisis. In a city where no-one is who they say they are, and everyone is suspect, will M be able to uncover the truth?
