Most bizarre book series ever, author lost it
I've read the previous books in the left hand of God trilogy (left hand of God, the last four things, and the beating of his wings) and I was overjoyed there was a fourth one. I've never liked reading before the left hand of God trilogy, and I doubt I'll ever find something worth reading ever again, but I really strongly love this series, and every chance I get I tell people about it. The fourth book - the white devil - is somehow even stranger than the previous books. I had a bit of a hard time adjusting to Cale having gotten older, and I'm sure that I'm not the only one who has that experience. I'm also not too familiar with American history (I'm not American) which many of the parts in the book seem to be based on, so maybe someone with a deeper understanding or interest in that history will be able to enjoy the story even more. Sometimes in the book there are multiple pages of repetitions from the previous books, as a sort of memory refresher for readers, and I'm guessing this is due to there being a large gap between the release of the beating of his wings and the white devil, but as a reader who went straight from the third book to the fourth, barely a minute in-between, i always debate skipping them, but it's unnatural to skip pages when reading, so i never do, but it remains feeling unnecessary. So if you're thinking of buying the book even if it's been a while since you've read the first ones, I don't think you have to re-read anything beforehand. All in all, it's a perfectly strange and bizarre addition to the books that made me enjoy reading for the first time in my life. I love them more than I can explain! (Also it's my first time writing a review I feel like I'm rambling) Read it! 10/10 recommend it!!!
