Bordernoir, Texas, Rio Bravo, Mexiko. Sicarioland. Ensamma öden vävs våldsamt fatalistiskt samman i skiten, blodet, gyttjan och sanden. Ekon av Jim Thompson. Bör jämföras med "The dead women of Juàrez" av Sam Hawken, "Triple crossing" av Sebastian Rotella, "Tijuana Straits" av Kem Nunn, "Dìa de los Muertos" av Kent Harrington, "A Death in Mexico" av Jonathan Woods och "Bordersnakes" av James Crumley. Även "2666" av Roberto Bolano bör nämnas. Alla bättre författade än den avlägsna tomheten.
